Flynn’s Boy shaped with bags of promise last time out over an inadequate trip and is of serious interest at 8/1 in the 3.10 at Yarmouth now upped to his favoured 7f.
Rae Guest’s charge progressed well in the early part of last year, winning three times.
His last success saw him beat Local Singer by 1/2 a length at Salisbury off a mark of 75 and he went on to finish a fine third to Fityaan in a class 3 handicap at Newmarket off 77.
The gelding’s form then tailed off badly, and he didn’t show much on his first two starts this season.
However he shaped with much more encouragement at Yarmouth when an eye-catching 5th of 13 to Hezmaah in a class 3 handicap over 6f, and then showed that his time was near when a staying on third to Poole Harbour over 6f at Folkestone last week.
Although beaten just over 4 lengths, he made good headway from the rear down the unfavoured middle of the track and was not knocked about.
That was a class 4 event and he is now dropping in grade to a class 5 over his best trip of 7f.
All three of his career successes have come over the journey, and from a mark of 74 he is certainly handicapped to go in again as he is 1lb lower than when last successful.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Flynn’s Boy (8/1 bet365 – BOG)
