Geranium looks on a handy mark and makes plenty of appeal at 11/2 in the 3.30 at Ffos Las today.
Hughie Morrison’s fylly shaped nicely on her third start in maiden company when staying on to finish a never nearer 5 3/4 length third of nine to Racing Country over 7f at Newmarket.
The winner is a useful sort who has since gone on to follow-up in a class 3 handicap at Ascot off a rating of 88 and the runner-up Glenglade has scored twice since – with the latest of those coming off 82.
Gernamium then appreciated the step up to 1m when opening hre account on handicap debut at Kempton where aftre being held up she stayed on strongly to get up and beat Divine Messenger by a neck off 65.
She got put up up 6lb for that victory but shaped better than the bare result suggests off her revised rating of 71 when given too much to do and beaten 2 1/2 length into fifth behind Extra Large in a 12-runner affair at Kempton.
It was an effort which suggested there was better to come so off an unchanged mark she looks to have every chance at the weights of resuming winning ways in this – especially on her aforementioned Newmarket run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Geranium (11/2 bet365, BetVictor, Sky Bet, William Hill – BOG)
