Well-weighted Goadby worth a go at 9s

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Goadby has slipped to a handy mark and looks worth a punt at 9/1 in the 3.40 at Yarmouth today having shaped as if coming to hand last time out.

Jack Holt’s six-year-old mare was last successful at Nottingham 12 months ago when showing plenty of pace to chase the leaders before keeping on well to beat Fortinbrass by a length off a mark of 57.

She got put up to 61 for that victory and failed to cut any icve for the rest of the campaign.

However, that has resulted in the handicapper cutting her plenty of slack and Goadby is now able to race off a career-low mark of 48 having shaped well off it last time out when third at Wolverhampton.

That was an improved effort following two runs at Southwell and Nottingham where she was well-beaten and Goadby took three spins last season to get straight before striking.

If building on her latest effort she looks weighted to get back on the scoresheet.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Goadby (9/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
