Haworth has caught the eye on more than one occasion and looks worth siding with at 9/2 in the 2.50 at Haydock today.
James Bethell’s charge ran well over course and distance three starts back when fifth of nine in a class 4 contest off a mark of 67 when after being held-up he was denied a clear run before keeping on well to be breaten 2 1/4 lengths.
He backed that up with a solid third at Ripon where after racing wide towards the rear he stayed on strongly to be nearest at the finish and beaten 1 1/2 lengths off his current mark of 66.
Haworth also shaped better than the bare result suggests last time out at Redcar when a five length fifth of 15 to Clear as A Bell, again find himself short of room at a vital stage when trying to make ground from off the pace.
Judged on those efforts his time is near and he should be more than capable of winning a class 5 contest like this if the cards drop right.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Haworth (9/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
