Le Drapeau looks worth a wager at 6/1 on handicap debut in the 3.40 at Sedgefield today.
Sue Smith’s charge shaped with some promise in two bumper runs, most notably when a 16 1/4 length third of eight to the smart Lalor at Worcester.
He also ran a nice race on hirdles debut at Carlisle when keeping on from off the pace to finish a 12 1/4 lemgth third of 11 to Cesar Collongex.
The runner-up Canny Style has won since to be rated 108 and the fourth home Colt Lightning has also gone on to taste success and be rated 105.
That form reads well in the context of this contest and suggests and opening markr of 103 for Le Dra[eau is exploitable.
Altough he failed to build on that effort last time here, the six-year-old looks the type to improve now going down the handicap route and remains lightly-raced and unexposed for a yard with a 20% strike rate at the track in the past 12 months.
