Meshardal has become dangerously well treated and looks worth a wager at 6/1 in the 5.00 at Catterick today now returned to a venue that he thrives at for the first time this season.
Ruth Carr’s eight-year-old has a terrific record over course and distance having won four times and been placed twice from eight starts.
In the last of those 13 months ago he beat Love Oasis by 1/2 a length off a mark of 74.
Meshardal is now able to race in this class 5 affair off 8lb lower (66) and comes into race having shaped well in his last three starts in class 4 company.
It gives him major claimms from a handicapping perspective as his last four success – all last year – came off 65, 67, 69 and the aforementioned 74.
The blinkers also now go one for the first time and James Sullivan has a strike rate of 21 per cent on him.
This looks the easiest task he has faced for a while and a good opportunity fo rhim to get back on the scoresheet – despite a high draw in 11 not being ideal.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Meshardal (6/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
