Marco “Captain” Huck retained his WBO Cruiserweight crown in Germany on Saturday night in a thriller against seasoned pro Firat Arslan with Huck seemingly taken by surpoise with Arslan’s aggressive and offensive style from the off. But by the end of the 12 rounds at the Gerry Weber Stadium the man who wants to move back up to Heavyweight and face Wladimir Klitschko in 2013 was the winner on all 3 scorecards 115-113, 115-113, and 117-111.

Huck is now expected to be evelvated to WBO Super Champion following his latest successful defence.

Afterwards the judges scoring was the cause from some lively discussions. Kalle Sauerland: “Most boxing experts from around the world had Huck as the winner of the fight. Nevertheless, I understand that the camp of Firat Arslan is frustrated. In my opinion this is a fight all of us would like to see again. My respect to both of these guys. It was an amazing duel.”
