Ingleby Star looks decent value at 6/1 to take advantage of a drop in class and score an overdue success in the 2.30 at Brighton today.

The eight-year-old has been a multiple winner over the years with his last success coming in a class 5 contest at Beverley in March 2012 where he ran on strongly to beat Fera Nothing by 1 1/2 lengths off a mark of 65.

Since then his form has been hit and miss, but he has fallen in the weights as a result and now gets into this off just 58 having performed with credit in his last four starts.

On the first of those occasions he finished a solid third of 12 to Irish Boy in a competitive (for the grade) class 6 apprentice handicap at Doncaster where he was beaten 2 3/4 lengths off 61.

Since then he has finished a fair fifth to Spic ‘N Span, fourth to Arch Walker and 6th of 8 to Aye Aye Digby (beaten 3 1/4 lengths) in a class 5 affair at Goodwood on his lastest start.

John Stimpson’s charge now takes a drop in grade into class 6 selling company having been dropped 1lb since has last run, and on the pick of his form that gives him every chance in this very weak looking affair.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Ingleby Star (6/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
