Iron Condor ready to swoop

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Iron Condor is well weighted at present and has to be of serious interest at 11/2 now dropped in class in the 7.50 at Kempton.

James Eustace’s gelding hasn’t won since scoring at Yarmouth last August but he has run some solid races and has shaped well in his last two starts.

He caught the eye when staying on to finish a never nearer 7th of 16 to Franciscan in a competitive class 3 contest at York two starts ago and put in a similar effort over course and distance last time up in the same grade when finishing fifth of 9 to runaway winner Rumh after being slowly away.

Those runs suggested that his winning turn is near, and off a mark of 73 he is definitely handicapped to go close now dropped into class 5 company.

Although he has yet to win over tonight’s 2m trip it looks well within his compass, and he clearly likes the track as both his career wins on the all-weather have come at this venue.

The booking of Richard Hughes also catches the eye, and with no unexposed types in the line-up he looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to get back into the winners’ enclosure.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Iron Condor (11/2 Betfred – BOG)
