It Dont Come Easy looks overpriced at 14/1 and worth an each-way wager in the July Stakes at Newmarket today (2.25).
Richard Fahey’s colt shaped with bags of promise on debut when a keeping on fourth to the very smart Santry at York and duly built on that effort next time up to open his account at Musselburgh when breaking a long standing course record.
He ran on strongly to beat Rebel Assault by a head with the pair pulling 10 lengtsh clear of the field.
It Don’t Come Easy was pitched into Group 2 company on the back of that taking victory and ran a cracker when fifth of 17 to Sioux Nation in the 5f Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.
After showing plenty of pace to chase the leaders on the far side he got hampered when switched left to make a move a furlong from home before keeping on to be beaten 3 3/4 lengths without quite having the pace to get to the leaders.
It was a solid effort given how the race panned out and the step up to 6f looks sure to suit.
It Don’t Come Easy is clearly improving with each run and I think he has a far better chance in this than his odds suggest.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way It Don’t Come Easy (14/1 bet365 – BOG, 1/4 odds 1,2,3)
