That Is The Spirit has been given a chance by the handicapper and makes plenty of appeal at 9/2 in the 4.40 at Musselburgh todaay now eased in grade.
David O’Meara’s six-year-old was last successful at Chelmsford back in April when scoring by a neck off a mark of 95 in a class 3 handicap.
He has since run well to make the frame on several occasions, including when third to Mitchum Swagger in a conditions’ contest at Thirk off an officila rating of 100.
That Is The Spirit has also run well in his loast two starts in competitive class 2 contests, finishing a 3 3/4 length 9th of 15 to Masham Star at Chelmsford off 99 and a 4 1/2 length sixth of 18 to Makzeem at Newmarket off 96.
He has since been dropped another 2lb to 94, 1lb lower than when last successful.
The gelding also now drops back down into class 3 company in which he has a 60% strike rate having won three ofn hsi five starts in the grade, so everything looks in place for him to get back on the scoresheet.
