Lucinda Russell’s 10-year-old posted some solid efforts in staying handicap chases last year, including when third in the Scottish Borders National at Kelso.
He backed that up with a fine second at the same venue before running really well in this contest when a 1/2 length third of 14 to Straidnahanna off a mark of 118.
Itstimeforapint raced prominently throughout and stuck to the task well until losing second near the finish.
He now meets the runner-up Gonalston Cloud, whio beat him a neck, on 3lb better terms.
Itstimeforapint is also able to race in this year’s renewal off the same mark and looks sure to come on a bundle for his reappearance run at Carlisle where he shaped as if badly in need of the outing.
With the stable back amongst the winners of late he looks to have plenty going for him.
