Kimberella can kick Chester rivals into touch

Kimberella has a good record at Chester and is strongly fancied at 3/1 to further enhance it with victory in the Listed 6f Queensferry Stakes there today (3.00).

Richard fahey’s charge has won twice and finished runner-up in three starts over course and distance. He is also three from seven at the Roodee.

The last of his CD succeses came in this 12 montsh ago when beating Judicial by 1 3/4 lengths.

Kimberella has also won this season and posted some solid efforts in defeat, being baeten just a short-head by Kachy at Lingfield and a nose by Sir Dancelot – who has won twice since including a Group 2 last time out and also finished a fine fourth in the Group 1 July Cup – at Hamilton three starts back.

The form of those runs set the standard in this and although Kimberella has not been at his best on his last two starts he is not the type that will be kept down for long.

Paul Hanagan also gets a great tune out of the eight-year-old (31 per cent strike rate on him) and from a good draw in stall two he is going to be tough to beat on the pick of his form at a venue and over 6f trip which clearly bring out the best in him.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Kimberella (3/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
