King’s Coinage caught the eye last time out and looks worth a punt at 11/2 to cash-in on a drop in the weights to land the spoils 3.35 at Catterick today.
The four-year-old was last successful in a class 5 at Newbury in June of last year when in the care of Ed Walker and bearing Chocolate Box by 3/4 of a length off a mark of 67.
He then moved to join Ruth Carr off a revised rating of 73 and it’s fair to say that he has larglely struggled since.
However, he is now able to race off a career-low makr of 58 as a result and he took a big step back in the right direction off it last time out at Thirsk when a 3 length fifth of 17 to Albert Boy.
After being held-up, King’s Coinage found himself short of room when making a move two from home. He was then denied a clear run when keeping on well inside the last and to me eyes finished with plenty of running left in the tank.
That was his second run back after wind surgery and if building on it he looks dangerously well-treated in this class 6 contest and the one to be on.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win King’s Coinage (11/2 BetVictor, Betfair, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Sky Bet – BOG)
