King’s Pavilion looks nicely treated on the pick of his form and worth an each-way wager at 9/1 in the Carlisle Bell Handicap at Carlisle today now eased in grade (3.30).

The gelding won a class 2 handicap at Epsom 12 months ago off a mark of 88 when trained by Mark Johnston and backed that up with a solid third off 93 in the same grade at Sandowbn.

King’s Pavilion is now able to race off a rating of 85 and although slightly disappoiting last time out had previosuly shaped really well on debut for new handler David Barron when a two lengtn fifth of 10 to George William at Nottingham off 1lb in a race which has worked out well.

The winner has gone on to make the frame in the Spring Mile at Newbury and the valuable Victoria Cup at Ascot, both class 2 contests, and the runner-up G K Chesterton has won twice since

Judged on that running King’s Pavilion is a huge player in this now now dropped down into class 4 company, a grade in which he has won once and been placed once from three starts.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way King’s Pavilion (9/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
