Farang Kondiew makes his eagerly awaited handicap debut off a lenient mark in the 6.40 at Doncaster and rates the best bet of the day at 4/1.
Declan Carroll’s colt showed progressive form as a juvenile, and after finishing a promising third to Shumoos at Haydock came good at the third time of asking when overcoming trouble at the start to land a 6f event at Ayr in impressive fashion.
The imposing son of Selkirk showed a good turn of foot to put the race to bed after being held up at the rear and won going away by 2 1/4 lengths from Mistress Of Rome.
He went into my notebook then as one to keep on the right side of this term, as he was far from the finished article and has the physique which suggest he will come into his own as a three-year-old.
I strongly believe that he is far better than his opening mark of 77, and the way he won at Ayr suggested that he would have no trouble getting today’s trip of a mile.
To me he is a horse to follow throughout this season, and at 4/1 with Hills he looks terrific value.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 5pts win Farang Kondiew (4/1 Hills – BOG)
