Lesley’s the Choice at Lingfield

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Lesley’s Choice ran a blinder last time out after a lay-off and at 7/2 rates the best bet on today’s Lingfield card (4.30).

Paul Rich’s gelding was collared close home and beaten a neck by the in-form First In Command over 5f at Southwell on his first run back from a three month break and is able to race of exactly the same mark this afternoon.

That gives him every chance of going one better, as he is now 17lb below his last winning mark.

The six-year-old’s last win came on the turf at Musselburgh back in 2010, and his barren spell since means that he now races off a career-low mark of just 60.

He is also sure to strip fitter for his run at Southwell, and the fact that he was heavily backed there suggest that connections believe they have got a very well treated horse on their hands.

Another plus is that he has a decent draw in stall 5 for one that likes to race up with the pace, and this looks an excellent opportunity for him to score an overdue success.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Lesley’s Choice (7/2  Betvictor, Ladbrokes – BOG)
