Liverpool play host to Premiership leaders Man City at Anfield on today (4pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1), and at 9/5 looking cracking value to emerge victorious.

City have only won one of their last 12 Premier League games against Liverpool and haven’t won at Anfield in their last eight PL visits.

That’s an ominous stat and highlights the tough task that the Citizens face this afternoon.

The home side also come into the clash in decent form having extended their unbeaten run with a good solid performance to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bride last weekend and ran out easy 3-0 winners over the Citizens when the two sides met in this fixture back in April.

It was a tactical triumph for Dalglish at The Bridge, and Craig Bellamy, Maxi Rodriguez and Luis Suarez linked together well and  always looked capable of scoring.

There must be a chance however that he will change things around a bit for this one and give Andy Carroll a start given that he has scored four career goals in five Premier League games against City.

He netted two in the aforementioned 3-0 win when they last met and looks decent value at 15/2 with Boylesports and Paddy Power to open the scoring.

The 5/2 on offer with Boylesports for him to score anytime in the 90 minutes also looks a tad too big and worth a dabble.

This does look like a game that has goals written all over it, and Betfred go a standout 4/6 about both teams scoring.

That looks a really solid bet for those that like to play odds-on.
