Mazaaher disappointed last time out but is strongly fancied at 4/1 to bounce back now returned to the Tapeta surface in the 6.20 at Wolverhampton this evening.
The colt’s latest win came at the venue three starts back over course and distance where he stayed on strongly from off the pace to beat Crowdmania by a length off a mark of 71.
Barry Hills’ charge then posted a solid effort off 74 when beaten just 1/2 a length and finishing third of 11 to Postcript, again over course and distance, and now gets into this off just 1lb higher.
He should be more than capable of winning a class 4 congtest of this nature off his current mark of 75 given that he was runner-up off it 13 months ago at Newamrket in a class 3 contest and the new surface at this venue clearly suits.
Although only 10th of 12 at Newbury 11 days ago when sent off the 9/2 second fav, his record suggests that the cut in the ground was against him and I am more than prepared to put a line through that effort and treat him as if still in form.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Mazaheer (4/1 Paddy Power, Sky Bet, William Hill – BOG)
