Meshardal shaped well last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 6/1 in the 7.25 at Haydock today.
Ruth Carr’s eight-year-old was last successful in a class 4 contest at Catterick 11 months ago when beating Love Oasis by 1/2 a length off a mark of 74.
Meshardal is now able to race in this class 5 affair off 4lb ,lower (70) and comes into race race having finsihed a fine fourth of 14 to Made Of India in a much stronger class 4 affair over course and distance 13 days ago.
He showed plenty of pace to track the leaders befote keeping on at the one pace to be beaten 3 3/4 lengths.
The winner is a useful sort and the runner-up Muscika has since bolted up at Ayr.
It gives the form a strong look in relation to this lower grade contest and Meshardal is able to race in it off an unchanged mark.
He also has a 23% strike rate under James Sullivan and if building on his latest effort is weighted to get back on the scoresheet.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Meshardal (6/1 bet365, Paddy Power – BOG)
