Meshardal has a terrific record at Catterick and looks worth a bet to further enhance it with victory in the 4.40 there today.
Ruth Carr’s eight-year-old has won four of his seven starts over course and distance, finishing placed on two other occasions.
In the last of those successes last July he beat Love Oasis by 1/2 a length in a class 4 off a mark of 74 in the hands of Jack Garrity.
Meshardal is now able to race in this class 5 affair off the same rating and comes into the race on the back of a solid fourth at Newcastle when beaten just 3/4 of a length having been denied a clear run.
That run suggestde his time was near and Garrity, who is 1-1 on him, is now back in the saddle.
With the return to this venue a plus, and underfoot conditions to suit, Meshardal looks have to outstanding claims of getting back on the scoresheet.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Meshardal (3/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
