Monjeni shaped nicely last time out and at 6/1 looks the one to be on in the 4.40 at Ffos las today now eased in grade.
The Ian Williams trained five-year-old kept on well from off the pace to finish a 1 1/2 length fourth of eight to What A Welcome in a class three at Newbury, with the front four home pulling 11 lengths clear of the rest.
What A Weclome is a thriving sort who has since gone on to score again in a class 3 at Ascot off a mark of 91 to make it seven wins from her last eight starts.
That gives the form a strong look and although Monjeni has been raised 2lb to a career-high mark of 80 it is just 1lb higher than when beaten a length into third behind Theydon Grey in a class 3 at York back in June.
This class 4 affair is less competitive and Monjeni is entitled to come on for that outing as it was his first following an 83 day break.
With the yard operting at a near 26 per cent strike rate in the past 14 days – four winners yesterday – and Robert Winston in the saddle, Monjeni looks to have plenty going for him in this.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Monjeni (6/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
