Mukhayyam looks worth another chance to finally cash-in on a drop in the weights to score and overdue success in the 3.15 at Carlisle today.

The gelding was a dual winner as a juvenile when trained by Sir Michael Stoute but then lost his way and joined Tim Easterby.

Mukhayyam started life off with his new handler off a rating of 91 but is now able to race off just 80.

That is a career-low and the four-year-old ran an excellent race at York off 3lb four three starts back when a 1 3/4 length fourth of 10 to Pandora in a class 3 contest at York.

Mukhayyam followed that up with a solid seventh of 13 to Sindarban over course and distance when not getting the run of the race, and again had things conspire against next time up when fourth at Ripon in a class 3 contest.

He than ran very well when beaten just 3/4 of a length when runner-up to Eager Beaver over 1m 4f at leicester four days ago when the front two pulled 6 lengths clear of the field,

Mukhayyam should get a stronger pace to aim at in this and the drop back down to 1m 3f should suit.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Mukhayyam (100/30 generally available – use BOG firms)
