Mukhayyam was a big eye-catcher last time out looks worth a wager at 11/2 to provide Tim Easterby with another success in the Queen Mother’s Cup at York today (1.50).
The Yorksire based handler has a superb record in the lady amateur riders contest having won three of the last six runnings of the 1m 4f, including last year’s renewal with Snoano.
In Mukhayyam he has a five-year-old who is running off a mark just 1lb higher than when last succsesful and looked an unlucky loser when beaten 1/2 lenbths by Sands Chorus at Ripon nine days ago.
After tracking the leaders travelling well he found himself trapped on the inside two from home and by the time a gap did eventually appear the race was over.
Mukhayyam finished with plenty of running left in him and it was an effort which suggested his time was near.
If building on that he has evey chnace at the weights of going go one better under last year’s winning rider Emily Easterby.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Mukhayyam (11/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
