North Hill Harvey looks to have plenty going for him in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham today (2.30) and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1.
Dan Skelton trained five-year-old shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up to the smart Barters Hill on hurdling debut at Huntingdon, holding every chance two from home before making a bad mistake and being eased to be beaten 14 lengths.
He then opened his account with a smooth 4 1/2 length success at this venue, travelling well throughout and quickening up smartly after taking up the running at the last to easily beat Baden by 4 1/2 lengths.
North Hill Harvey then made mistakes when runner-up in a Listed contest at Huntingdon before being far from disgraced when ninth of 14 to Altior in the the Grade 1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Festival.
He went on to round off the campaign with a decent 9 length fourth to Buveur D’air in a Grade 1 at Aintree, where he split Limini and Bleu Et Rouge who were rated 151 and 152 respectively going into the race.
Judge on that effort a mark of 141 looks exploitable and North Hill Harvey remains unexposed and looks the type who should have more to offer this season for a yard going well.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way North Hill Harvey (7/1 bet365, Stan James, William Hill – BOG)
