Oasis Fantasy holds all the aces at Ascot

Oasis Fantasy looks worth a punt at 6/1 in the 2.00 at Ascot today now eased in grade.

Ed Dunlop’s gelding landed a handicap at Goodwood in good style last june, coning from off the pace to readily beat Rocket Ship by 2 lengths off a mark of 76,

He backed that up with a cracking 1 3/4 length second of 10 to Battersea in a class 2 handicap over course and distance off 84, and was also far from disgraced in a similar grade affair at Goodwood when fourth of 13 to Double Bluff off a mark of 87.

The form of those races looks strong in the context of this lower grade class 3 contest, and Oasis Fantasy gets into it of what looks a workable mark of 85.

The four-year-old also shaped better than the bare result suggests on reappearance at Thirsk last month when seventh of 10 to Kelinni, tracking the leaders and not getting a clear run before fading to be beaten 4 3/4 lengths as lack of race fitness took it’s toll.

Oasis Fantasy looks should to come on a bundle for that outing, his first in 175 days, and with condtions ideal and Paul Hanagan in the saddle he looks the one to beat on the pick of his form.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Oasis Fantasy (6/1 bet365, Stan James – BOG, enhaced place terms 1/4 odds 1,2,3)
