Orion’s Bow up for the Scottish Sprint Cup

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Orion’s Bow has plenty going for him in the Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh today (3.10) and makes plenty of appeal at 8/1.

The gelding showed ultra-progressive form last year when trained by the late Dandy Nicholls, winning five on the bounce.

Having initially scored off a mark of 69 at Thirsk, Orion’s Bow went on to land the Scottish Stewards’ Cup at Hamilton off 28lb higher.

He also ran a blinder in defeat when a 1 1/4 length second of 27 to Dancing Star in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood off 103 and is now able to race in this off just 1lb higher.

Back on workable mark
That gives him every chnace at the weights and he comes into the race on the back of two eye-cacthing runs this season for new handler Tim Easterby.

After finishing a keeping on not knocked about sixth of 13 at Ripon the six-year-old showed plenty of dash to lead until fading late on to be fourth at Haydock.

Orion’s Bow should now be spot on to do himself justice and with Rachel Richardson in the saddle who takes off another 3lb with her claim looks primed to run a huge race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Orion’s Bow (8/1 BetVictor, Betfred, William Hill – BOG)
