Friday night at London’s Coronet saw Mickey Helliet stage a mammoth 14 fight card in front of a nigh on sell-out crowd with the show dedicated to Lewis Pinto the young Wallington fighter who died recently and there was a charity auction for the Pinto family.

First fight of the night saw Light-Middleweight prospect Ahmet Patterson take on Kevin McAuley over 6 rounds with the flashy Patterson winning all 6 rounds on the ref’s scroecard 60-54.

Next up saw Cheshunt based scouser Scott Woods take on Lithuanian Arnold Lydekaitis over 4 rounds at Super-Middle with the Lithuanian catching Woods on numerous occasions throughout and in my opinion he won the fight but ref Rob Williams saw it a draw 38-38.

Top of the bill saw Slough traveller George Michael Carman up against Danny Donchev at Welterweight with Carman boxing well throughout against the awkward journeyman the fight went the distance with Carmen winning on points over the 6 rounds 60-55 on Rob Williams card.

In a Light-Welter contest over 4 rounds Matt Goddard made it 2-0 beating Dan Naylor 40-37 with Goddard looking sharp through this one. Next up saw Carlshalton’s Lee Owen in a 4 rounder against Arthur Geikins a Latvin fighting out of Bognor Regis. The stylish Owen blooded the nose of Geikins in the opener and went on to win the Light-Middle contest convincingly on points 40-36.

Local ticket seller Johnny “The Pexican” Garton took on Matt Seawright over 4 rounds at Middleweight with the popular Garton taking every round winning on points 40-36 much to the delight of the Garton faithful. Garton is now 5-0 in the pro’s.

Up and coming Welter Charlie Rice had a good nighst work beating Marc McKray over 6 rounds to win on points 58-57 with Rice now 3-0 and looking an attractive prospect.

Another fighter to watch is London based Slovak Heavyweight Marek Onda who made his pro debut against Bulgarian Kristian Kirilov who the classy looking Onda had down in the opener with a good left right combo and the ref called a halt at 0.36 of the first.

Results in breif – Welterweight Dani Davis outpointed Ross Payne over 4 rounds 38-37; Super-Middle Elliot Matthews got a great TKO victory over Bulgarian Viktor Tzonev who he had down 3 times; Super-Middle Louis Byrne lost his second on the spin with a TKO loss to Warren Fenn who is now 3-0; Brighton Welter Lloyd Ellett make it 5-0 with a points win over Billy Smith over 4 rounds 40-36; Super-Middle Joe McDonald got a draw in his first outing as a pro over 4 rounds against Ryan Joe Walsh 38-38 and Heavyweight Adam Brearley made his pro debut against Bulgarian Deyan Mihailov with the Bulgarian having Brearley down in the 1st and they had points deducted twice in the 3rd for holding and Brearley also had a point deducted in the 4th for the same reason, Brearley won on points 37-35.

Daily Sport says –  A good nights boxing albeit a bit of a marathon but some good action on this bill for the many fans.
