The Romford Pele looks to have got in lightly on his handicap debut in the 3.30 at Kempton today and is of major interest at 4/1.

Rebecca Curtis’ seven-year-old was a sueful hurdler and has run well to be placed on all four of his starts over fences this season.

The gelding finsihed an excellent 3/4 length second to Balder Success on his debut over the larger obstacles at Chepstow, and the winner has gone on to win three times since with his latest success coming in a Grade 2 at Kempton off an official rating of 151.

Double Ross, who was 9 lengths back in third in the Chepstow contest, has also gone on to land two ultra competitive handicaps at Cheltenham off marks of 133 and 140 and is now rated 151.

That gives the form a rock solid look and makes the selection, who also got beat just 4 lengths by subsequent RSA winner Taquin Du Seuil at Cheltenham, look potentially thrown-in off an opening mark of just 129.

He also has the services of the useful Patrick Corbett in the saddle who takes another 5lb of his back, and this looks a golden opportunity for him to nocth his first success over fences.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win The Romford Pele (4/1 BetVictor – BOG)
