Penny Dreadful a punt at Catterick

Penny Dreadful has a good record at Catterick and having dropped to a handy mark looks worth a punt in the 4.30 there today.

Scott Dixon’s mare has run four times at the venue, winning twice and finishing in the frame on the two other occasions. She is also 1-1 over at the track over this afternoon’s 5f trip.

Her last success came over course and distance 11 months ago where she bolted up by 3 1/4 lengths off a makr of 65.

She got hit with an 8lb rise for that to 73, but did tun well off 72 whne third at Southwell three starts later.

Penny Dreadful is now able to race off 60 – a career low – and comes into the race having shaped wuite nicely last time out when a 1 1/2 length fourth of seven in a class 4 at Doncaster.

That was just her sceond start of the season and she should no be spot on to do herself justice at a track which clearly brings out the best in her in this lower grade class 5 affair.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Penny Dreadful (7/1 Boylesports, Coral, Ladbrokes – BOG)
