Procurator has plenty going for him at Donny

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Procurator shaped as if coming to the bpoil last time out and looks worth a wager at 12/1 in the 4.30 at Doncaster today.

Richard Hannon’s colt notched his sole success in a nursery at Goodwood last August when scoring by a length off a mark of 77 and was far from disgraced in three subsequent outings off 82.

They included when a 4 3/4 length fifth of 17 to Golden Apollo at this venue on his final start of the campaign and the winner is a useful sort who has won twice since, including a valuable handicap at York yesterday.

Procurator has had just two starts this season and there was lots to like about his last run when a 1 3/4 length fifth of 16 to Hajaj at Ascot where he raced keenly but stuck to the task well.

The third home has come out and won since and the form reads well in the context of this contest which doesn’t look as competitive.

He is able to race in it off an unchanged mark of 78 and that makes Procurator look well-treated and huge player on the pick of his form.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Procurator (12/1 BetVictor, Paddy Power – BOG)
