Ravenhoe has slipped to a career-low mark and looks worth an each-way wager at 25/1 in the 3.55 at Pontefract today.
Mark Johnston’s charge was last successful over course and distance back in May when scoring by a length off a mark of 70 and also ran well to finish a 1 length third five starts back at Carlisle off the same rating.
The four-year-old is now able to race off just 61 and that gives him major claims at the weights on the pick of his form.
Although not the easiest to catch right he would be a big player in this if bouncing back to his best and like many from the yard it would be no surprise to see him do just that.
He also didn’t shape too badly last time otu when leading until fading late on to finish a 7 length seventh of 15 to Pioneering at Beverley and now meets the winner on 12lb better terms.
With Franny Norton, who is 2 from 8 on him, in the saddle he is too well-treated to ignore at the odds on offer.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Ravenhoe (25/1 bet365 – BOG)
