Course and distance winner Shabbah is back down to his last winning mark and makes plenty of appeal at 12/1 in the 4.30 at Nottingham today.
The gelding racked up a hat-trick of successes in 2016 when trained by Sir Michael Stoute, with the last of those coming in a class 4 at Sandown off 79.
He was then beaten just a head in his bid for the four-timer in a class 2 at Ascot off 87 and posted a couple of decent efforts last year in the saem grade when fourth to Teodoro at Yarmouth and runner-up to Teofonic at Goodwood – off 87 on both occasions.
No in the care of Joseph Tuite, Shabbah is able to race off 79 again in this class 4 affair having caught the eye last time out when encouctering tourble in-running before finishing a keeping on 1 3/4 lenths fourth of 11 to Mukhayyam at Chester in a class 3 off 1lb higher.
That was a big step back in the right direction and if building on it Shabbah looks weighted to make his presence felt in this on the pick of his form.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Shabbah (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
