Snap up the 8s about Gator

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Miami Gator has a terrific record at Carlisle and look cracking value at 8/1 now dropped into claiming company in the 3.10 there today.

Elaine Burke’s tough front running five-year-old has won 3 of his 7 starts over course and distance, and showed himself to be as good as ever last month when winning at Hamilton.

He hasn’t been at his best in two subsequent starts, but went off far too fast for his own good last time at Ripon and is definitely worth another chance now dropped in grade and returned to his favourite stomping ground.

The gelding won a claimer at Sandown last July off a mark of 85, and gets into this off an official rating of 80.

He also has the services of the very useful Michael Metcalfe in the saddle, who takes another 3lb off his back and is tremendous value for his claim.

It’s also interesting that 5 of the selections 10 career wins have come in this grade, and with conditions to suit a huge run looks on the cards.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Miami Gator (8/1 BetVictor – BOG)
