Sondeduro makes his eagerly awaited handicap debut in the 6.00 at Bath and is of serious interest at 12/1.
Jamie Osborne’s colt shaped with bags of promise on his debut when staying on nicely under a hands and heels ride to finish fourth of 12 to Clare island Boy over 7f at Sandown, and again caught the eye on his next starts at Lingfield.
After being towards the rear he kept on well inside the final furlong to finish a never nearer 7th of 14 to Mizwaaj and although beaten 7 1/2 lengths ran much better than that suggests as he finished with running in him over the 7f journey.
The son of Manduro was yet again tenderly handled last time out at Newbury, where he raced far too keen early doors before making some headway two out to finish 11th 0f 17 to well Painted.
He could never get on terms to land a blow that day over the 7f trip, but showed enough to suggest that he has enough ability to make his mark in handicaps.
The step up in trip to a 1m 2f today will certainly suit judged on what I have seen, and his opening mark of 74 could well underestimate his ability.
At the odds on offer he looks good each-way value.
