Upavon looks worth siding with at 17/2 in the 4.20 at Kempton today now dropped back in trip.

David Elsworth’s gelding has won three of his 8 starts on the all-weather, including over course and distance last spring when beating Fortinbrass by 1/2 a length off a mark of 83.

His last success also came at this venue, over 7f, three starts back where he only had to be ridden out to account for Frontier Fighter by 1/2 a length off 85.

He then wasn’t beaten too far when a keeping on sixth of 9 to Verse Of Love, again over 7f at this venue, before finding the step up to a mile totally gaint him when well beatren at Lingfield last time out in a class 2 contest.

The four-year-old now drops back into class 3 company as well as 6f, and has won two of his seven starts over the trip.

He also gets into this off a mark of 86, just 1lb higher than when last successful, and that gives him every chnace at the weights.

Another plus is that he has a good draw to exploit in stall 1, and everything looks in place for a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Upavon (17/2 BetVictor – BOG)
