Now My Sun was a real eye-catcher last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the opener at Haydock today (2.20).
Elaine Burke’s charge gave himself too much to do after being slowly away when a never nearer fourth of 12 to Clon Brulee over course and distance last month.
He kept on really nicely to be beaten just 2 3/4 lengths, and is now 2lb better off with the runner-up Brockwell for a 1 1/2 lengths beating.
Given how the race transpired I would expet him to turn the tables if getting away on level terms, and he doesn’t look badly treated off his current mark of 68.
The son of Notnowcato showed his liking for the track when making a winning debut here last July, where he battled on bravely under pressure to beat Not Bad For A Boy by a short-head and looks the type who has more to offer this season.
He wasn’t at his best in his first two starts this term, but his run last time suggested that he was coming to the boil and he should now be spot on to do himself justice.
I certainly don’t think he should be available to back at nearly double the odds of Brockwell, and at 9/1 he looks terrific each-way value.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Now My Sun (9/1 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
