Tasleet has run really well in his to visits to Ascot so with underfoot condtions to suit looks worth siding with at 9/1 in the Chamnpions Sprint Stakes there today (2.00).

In the first of those he finsihed a neck runner-up to The Tin Man in the 2017 running of the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes when finishing off strongly to be gaining all the way to the line.

The five-year-old also put in a fin e effort in this 12 months ago when a 1 1/2 length runner-up to Librisa Breeze where he had the reopposing Harry Angel, The Tin Man and Brando behind in fourth, fifth andd sixth respectively.

Taslett has had just two runs this season, so comes into the race fresher than all his rivals.

In the first of those in a Group 2 at the Curragh he kept on nicely to finish a 2 3/4 length third of nine to susequent Group 1 winner Merchant Navy. Tasleet was then not at his best last time out when eighth of 12 to The Tin Man in the Sprint Cup at Hyadock, but was not given a hard time once it was clear he would not be winning.

The return to thie venue may well see him put in an improved showing and Tasleet was sent off the 6/1 second favourite last month’s Sprint Cup – a point shorter than The Tin Man.

He also now gets fitted with blinkers and the tongue-tie for the first time so
at the odds on offer looks well worth an each-way wager given that he is closely matched on form with those at the head of the betting.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Tasleet (9/1 Coral, Ladbrokes – 1/5 odds 1,2,3,4)
