Teenage Kicks primed for repeat success

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Teenage Kicks has been shaping as if his time is near and is strongly fancied at 9/2 to land the 4.10 at Plumpton for the second year running.

Polly Grundy’s gelding scored by 3 1/4 lengths last season off a mark of 109 before going on to land victories at Fontwell and Worcester.

His success in the latter, where he won easing down by six lengths from Pliny, came off a mark of 120 and he is now running off 1lb lower.

That gives him every chance at the weights of getting back into the winners’ enclosure, and  his last two runs have suggested that he is ready to do so.

The seven-year-old ran a solid race to be runner-up to Rossmore Lad at Towcester and then ran an even better race when a staying on third to Imperial Circus at Exeter.

He was beaten just 2 3/4 lengths that day despite being hampered approaching the last, and he would not have to improve much to take this.

Another plus is that he has winning form on soft ground and connections are sure to have him primed to capture this prize for a second time.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Teenage Kicks (9/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
