Tennyson raring to go on Belfast return Feb 3

The countdown has well and truly begun for much anticipated return of James Tennyson’s 2018 ring return at the Europa Hotel on Saturday 3rd February on the MHD Promotions in Association with A McLean Bookmakers exciting show.

It has now been confirmed that Belfast’s big punching super featherweight starlet has been handed an assignment against Arnoldo Solano of Nicaragua.

Solano (26) who is now based is Barcelona comes to the ring with a respectable 50/50 record having mixed it with the highest level Europe has to offer including former British, European, International & World Champions all of which having to go the distance with the teak tough Nicaraguan to earn their victories.

Matchroom stars, Former IBF World Bantamweight Champion Stuart Hall, WBC International Suber Bantamweight Champion Gamal Yafai & former European Super Featherweight Champion Devis Boschiero to name but a few all failed to halt the twenty eight fight veteran.

Tennyson (24), still a baby in boxing terms has come a long way in the last six years, since he turned professional he has amassed a record of 20-2 with seventeen wins coming inside the distance.

“The Assassin” is the ring name gifted to him  by his army of fans which grows by the day having been boosted by his last three exciting title fights all of which televised by major broadcasters, those victories catapulting him to number four in the world rankings by the WBA (World Boxing Association).

“James earlier this week was sanctioned by the WBC to face their champion Miguel Berchelt for the world title in Cancun, Mexico on the 10th February in which appeared to be a dream come true but after talks with Eddie (Hearn) we were advised that the offer on the table was worth treble what was on the table”

“ We know know what path lies ahead for Tennyson and its an exciting one, after several pull outs we start with Solano at the Europa who we know will give him valuable rounds for this big year ahead, an early night would be a real statement” added Manager Mark Dunlop.JT
