Testosterone has top class form in testing conditions and at 11/2 is strongly fancied to bounce back and land the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock (2.55).
The filly won in Group 2 and 3 company when trained in France by Pascal Barry, and put in her best performance when chasing home Galikova in the Group 1 Prix Vermeille at Longchamp in bottomless ground.
Although beaten 2 1/12 lengths an no match for the winner she finished a neck in front of Shareta who went on to run the race of her life when chasing home Danedream in the Arc.
That form is head and shoulders above what any of today’s rivals have achieved, and although he has not been at her best in her last two starts this represents a drop in class.
The daughter of Dansili disappointed in the Arc and was then pitched in at the deep end on her debut for Ed Dunlop in the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot on her first run for 286 days.
She was beaten a long way that day after leading until being headed two out, but was allowed to come home in her own time and is sure to strip much fitter today.
It’s also interesting that Johnny Murtagh, who was onboard her at Ascot, is back in the saddle today for what is his sole ride at the track.
