Three hot dogs for Hove

Some decent Open race action from Hove tonight (live on RPGTV, Sky 212) and there are three dogs that look value punts at thd odds on offer.

Mark Wallis has his tream in terrific form and his Aero Twizzle looks to have a plot draw in Trap 1 in the sprint Open at 8.18pm.

The son of Black Shaw is very useful when getting it right at the lids, and although he finished behind Helenas Sailor and Zenas Boy in the National Sprint at Nottingham last time out I think he is value at the 7/2 on offer to gain his revenge.

He got badly crowded at the first in that contest but looks assured of a clean run to the bend tonight.

With Trap 2 now vacant he will have tons of room to manouevre at the first corner as all of his rivals are wide seeds.

If he breaks in his best fashion there is every chance of him gaining the early advantage, and any jostling on his outer will make him very hard to peg back.

In the 515m Open at 8.50 I like the look of Ballymac Cryan at 7/2.

Matt Dartnall’s dog is a very strong sort and looks to have a decent draw in Trap 2 from where he should be able to tuck in behind Trap 1 Data Romeo who looks sure to lead the inside.

If he can track that dog and get a good pitch his power-packed finish will make him a danger to all, as he showed when beating Data Romeo back in November.

The one he clearly has to fear most is the jolly Dinner Hunter in Trap 6, but I thought he was slightly disappointing when beaten into fourth by Data Romeo last time out and he looks plenty short enough at 6/4.

The other bet the stands out on the card is Trap 6 Islas Scolari at 7/4 in the last at 10.26pm.

Seamus Cahill’s son of Droopys Scolari is not the quickest from the lids but is ideally housed as the sole seed in the stripes to get a clear run from where he can bring his back straight pace and strong finish into play.

To me he only has to turn handy to win this, and I had him priced up at no bigger than 5/4.

Therfore at the 7/4 on offer with Betfred, Coral and Paddy Power he looks overpriced and rates the banker bet on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bets:

8.18pm Trap 1 Aero Twizzle (7/2 Betfred, Coral, Ladbrokes)

8.50pm Trap 2 Ballymac Cryan (7/2 generally available)

10.26pm Trap 6 Islas Scolari (7/4 Betfred, Coral, Paddy Power)
