Thundering Blue looks to hold outstanidng claims of landing the spoils in the 4.05 at York today following an eye-cathing sesaonal reapperance,
The David Menuisier trained five-year-old progressed throughout last season when winning three of his five starts.
He showed a really smart turn of foot in the last of those at Sandown when coming from off the pace to comfortably beat Monarchs Glen by 1 1/2 lengths off a mark of 87.
Thundering Blue went on to post a solid effort on his final start of the campaign when seventh of 30 to Dolphin Vista in the Cambridgeshire off 93.
That run suggests that he is more than capable of winning races of his current rating and there was lots to like about his run at Epsom last month when staying on from off the pace to finish a never nearer 3 length fifth of 10 to Ajman King.
Thundering Blue looked ring rusty and looks sure to come on a bundle for the outing.
He won second time uo last year after a similar display and has a 50% strike rate in this grade having won two of his four starts in class 2 company.
This also doesn’t look as strong as some of the races he contested last season and with Andrea Atzeni in the saddle Thundering Blue ticks all the right boxes and looks the one they all have to beat.
