Time Square has been given a big chance by the handicapper and looks worth siding with at 15/2 to take advantage and land the spoils in the 3.40 at Kempton today.

Tony Carroll’s charge is a five-time winner at the track, with the last of those successes coming 12 months ago over 1m 2f where he beat Understory by a neck off a mark of 58.

Time Squre got put up to 63 for that victory and hs failed to trouble the judged in five subsequent outings.

However the asessor hass been quick to cut him plenty of slack and Time Square is noq able to race off just 54.

That is 4lb lower than when last successful, and Time Square shaped far better than the bafe result suggests last time out over 1m 2f at this venue when travelling well at the head of affairs before weakening inside the final furlong to finish a 5 1/2 length seventh of 12 to The Gay Cavalier.

It was a run which suggested he was returning to form, and if building on it Time Square is undoubtedly on a dangerous mark and weighted to go in again.

Although he has yet to win over today’s 1m 4f trip, he has run well over it to make the frame and from a good draw in stall 4 he could prove a tough nut to crack in the hands of Joey Haynes who gets a good tune out of him.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Time Square (15/2 bet365, BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
