Mr Tingle has shown enough to suggest he is capable of exploiting his current mark and he looks good value at 9/1 to do so in the 5.30 at Towcester.
Richard Philips’ gelding shaped with plenty of promise in three handicap runs last season, most notably well when backed and finishing third at Huntingdon off a mark of 95.
He was subsequently disqualified for taking the wrong course early doors in a contest which turned into a bit of a fiasco the 8-year-old went on to finish a fair fourth of 13 to Be My Light on a return to the track before rounding his campaign off with a midfield finish behind Mighty Monty at Uttoxeter.
Although he has been on the sidelines since, he is now racing off 93 and there is little doubt in my mind that he has enough ability to win a race of this nature off the rating.
He is also dropped back down to class 5 company having competed in class 4 contests on his last two starts, and is now in the back in the grade which saw him put in his good run at Huntingdon.
With the trip and conditions ideal he has been found a nice opportunity if ready to roll at the first time of asking, and at 9/1 he makes plenty of each-way appeal.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mr Tingle (9/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
