Temple Road has has shaped as if coming back to form in his last two starts and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the 2.40 at Lingfield today.

Milton Bradley’s gelding is a three-time course and distance winner, and the last of those successes saw him readily beat Parisian Pyramid by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 69 back in March.

The six-year-old got put up to 74 for that victory and ran well off it over course and distance on two occasions to finish fourth to Multitask and fourth to Desert Strike.

Temple Road is now able to race in this off 70 – just 1lb higher than when last successful – and comes into the contest on the back of two solid efforts.

In the first of those he kept on from off the pace to finish fourth to Salvatore Fury at Kempton, and he then backed that up with an eye-cathing run over CD last time out when running on strongly from well off the pace to finsih a never nearer 1 1/4 length fourth of nine to Varsovian.

The latter run was his third back from a break and suggested that he was coming to the boil nicely.

If he can build on that then Temple Road is weighted to run a huge race, and at the odds on offer he looks cracking each-way value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Temple Road (9/1 Betfred – BOG)
