Turtle Cask is back down to a handy mark and looks worth a wager at 14/1 in the 4.30 at Southwell today now refitted with the cheekpieces.
The gelding was last successful back in Deccember 2015 scoring by 13 lengths at Catterick off a rating of 83 when in the care of Dianne Sayer.
He went on to be placed off marks as high as 101 and also ran well on his final start for Sayer when third at Wetherby back in March off 93.
The eight-year-old is now able to race off 91, 2lb lower than when last successful, on just his second start for Mike Sowersby.
It gives him a big shout at the weights on the pick of his form and he is entitled to strip much fitter for his recent comeback run.
The cheekpieces, which he has sported when notching both his career success, also now go back on and with Brian Hughes in the saddle everything looks in place for a big run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Turtle Cask (14/1 Paddy Power, William Hill – BOG)
