Ultimate Avenue can be forgiven his run last time out and looks worth a punt at 6/1 in the 3.10 at Ascot today.
Ed Walker’s three-year-old was a big eye-catcher two starts back when a 3/4 length third of 19 to Ekhtiyaar in a hot 6f handicap at Newmarket.
After being held-up well off the pace he was making good headway when denied a clear run a furlong from home and after being to be switched sharply right to see daylight finished with a flourish to be gaining all the way to the line.
He looked a desperately unlucky loser and now meets the winner on 3lb better terms.
That should be enough for Ultimnate Avenue to gain his revenge and he will appreciate the return to a galloping track having been totally unsuited by the undulations of Goodwood last time out when hanging throughout up the straight before finishing ninth of 19 to Johnny Barnes.
He is also lightly raced and open to more improvemnet after just six starts and judged on his run behind Ekhtiyarr his current mark of 100 looks exploitable.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Ultimate Avenue (6/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
