Uncle Percy looks worth a punt at 7/2 on handicap debut in the 5.30 at Worcester today from what looks a fair mark now stepped up in trip.
The gelding ran well on debut in a bumper at Kelso when a 12 length runner-up to Thomas Campbell who is now rated 138 over hurdles.
He has since failed to trouble the judge in four subsequent otuings, three over hurdles, but didn’t shape too badly in the last of those when a keeping on fourth of 12 to Louis Vac Pouch over 2m at Southwell.
The runner-up Listen To The Man has won five times since to be rated 133 and the third home Somehwere to be was allotted an opening handicap mark of 120 on the back of it.
It makes an opening handicap mark of 100 for Uncle Percy look exploitable and the step up to 2m 4f looks sure to suit.
He looks the type to improve now going down the handicap route following a break and this doesn’t look the deepest of contests.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Uncle Percy (7/2 Ladbrokes, Sky Bet – BOG)
