Venturous weighted to go well at Donny

Venturous has become dangerously well-treated and looks worth a punt at 8/1 in the 5.20 at Doncaster today.

He was a smart juvenile in 2015 when trained by Charlie Appleby and winning two of his four starts.

The last of those successes came at this venue and although he has failed to get his head in front since the four-year-old did post some solid efforts last seasonm finishing third at Newmarket off 99 and fourth of 17 to Mr Lupton at York off 97.

Now in the care of David Barron, he is able to race in this off a career-low rating of just 82.

It gives him outstanding claims from a handicapping perspective and he shaped as if returning to form last time out over course and distance when sixth of 13 to Desert Law off 3lb higher.

He also now gets the services of Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle for the first time and if building on his latest effort he looks a massive player in this.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Venturous (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
